Airplanes and Helicopters Division
The basic task of the Department is to examine aircraft and military equipment for the needs of their operation
The main directions of works:
- Comprehensive in flight researches of aircraft;
- On-ground research of aircraft in the field of airframe construction and its installations;
- ITWL own construction research;
- Special tests ( for the Commission on Air Accident Investigation) and simulation;
- Development of training and simulation systems;
- Development of flight data recording systems;
- Technical support of exploitation processes;
- Qualification tests (state) of aviation technique introduced into operation in military aviation;
- Development of measurement and recording equipment for ground and in-flight testing;
- Examination and monitoring of the technical condition of aircraft drives in order to increase the reliability of the equipment being operated;
- Assessment of the behavior of the aircraft under extreme flight conditions to determine prophylactic measures and emergency procedures;
- Development and testing of proprietary designs for training troops in combating air targets, including unmanned aerial vehicles used as air targets;
- Development and testing of unmanned aerial observation systems;
- Simulation studies based on developed own models of aircraft motion dynamics based on parameters registered during the tests;
- On-board signal processing systems;
- On-board and terrestrial flight parameter display systems;
- Development of models of flight dynamics of aircraft;
- Expertise on airframe installations and operational media;
- Conducting environmental and mechanical tests of subassemblies and assemblies of military aviation technology in the accredited Laboratory of Mechanical and Climate Exposures.
