DEPARTMENT OF AIR ARMAMENT - The basic task of the Department is to develop, modernize and test air weapons, the directions of works carried out by the department are:

• Examination of the reliability and safety of aircrat's weapon equipment;
• Research on weapon operation systems;
• Examination of the possibility of prolonging the life of the aircraft's weapon after the period guaranteed by the supplier;
• Developing new designs of aerial aircraft's weapons;
• Modernization of on-board equipment of airplanes and helicopters;
• Developing of airborne targets;
• Developing of systems for passive protection of aircraft;
• Development of systems for assessing the use of weapons;
• Development of IT support systems for shooting area training.
• Development of new laboratory methods, field and flight tests of air weapon systems based on research in the field of object dynamics, effectiveness of combat use, pyrotechnics, optoelectronics and navigation.
