The main areas of activity carried out by the Department include:

  • Design, oversight, and modernization/modification of C4ISR system architectures;

  • Integration of LINK system components with C4ISR systems;

  • Protocol compliance testing with standards such as: LINK 16, JREAP-A, JREAP-B, JREAP-C, SIMPLE, ATDL-1;

  • Interoperability testing of LINK systems;

  • Development of intersystem interfaces for LINK 16/WAN.

In addition, the Department is engaged in:

  • A wide range of activities supporting the Air Force and developing electronic warfare systems;

  • Development of active and passive jamming techniques – enhancing electromagnetic threat countermeasures through radar and communication signal jamming;

  • Execution of certification procedures for Identification Friend or Foe (IFF) systems for various aircraft platforms;

  • Systems for satellite detection and identification in Low Earth Orbit (LEO): SSA and SST systems;

  • 3D laser scanning systems: LIDAR systems;

  • Missile launch detection systems: MWS systems;

  • Electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) testing in accordance with MIL-STD-461G RE102-3 Helicopters, using TEMPEST test stations and anechoic chambers;

  • Development and operation of imagery intelligence systems (electro-optical payloads, image analysis);

  • Protection against microwave electromagnetic radiation;

  • Repair, diagnostics, maintenance, and servicing of electronic warfare and reconnaissance systems;

  • Design of Computer-Based Training (CBT) educational systems using VR (Virtual Reality), AR (Augmented Reality), and MR (Mixed Reality) technologies;

  • Flight testing of radar stations using the “Flying Laboratory” based on the SONEX aircraft;

  • Virtual test environment (Test Bed) for the AGS (Alliance Ground Surveillance) system to support expanded capabilities in simulation, modeling, and evaluation of future CONOPS (Concept of Operations) and TTP (Tactics, Techniques, and Procedures) documentation.

The Department comprises the following organizational units:

  • Air Defense Systems Support and Simulation Lab

  • Optoelectronics Lab

  • Electronic Warfare Support Lab
