The main objective of the project "Detection, classification and tracking of a submarine using a swarm of unmanned aerial vehicles carried by a surface platform" is to develop a swarm of unmanned aerial vehicles capable of detecting, classifying and tracking a submarine.

The Air Force Institute of Technology is responsible for the development of an IT system enabling mission planning and its transmission to the swarm of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles, as well as for recording, visualization and archiving of the obtained data on the electronic chart base. The Air Force Institute of Technology also participates in research, simulation and physical model, of algorithms for detecting and locating Underwater Objects based on signals from hydrophones, classification of underwater noise sources and its tracking, including the use of artificial intelligence. The project is being developed in cooperation with the Naval Academy, the Air Force Institute of Technology, JSW Nowe Projekty SA and the Military University of Technology.
