The Minister of Education and Science awarded the Air Force Institute of Technology the scientific category "A" in mechanical engineering. The Minister’s decision of 28 July 2022 was issued based on the evaluation of the quality of scientific activity, resulting from the Act on higher education, which was conducted by the Science Evaluation Committee.

The decision states as follows:

“After analyzing the case, the Minister stated that the evaluation was conducted by the Commission in accordance with the provisions of the Act and of the Regulation, accepted the entire results of the evaluation of the Entity's achievements in the evaluated discipline and did not comment on its results. In the opinion of the Minister, the result of the evaluation allows the Air Force Institute of Technology to be awarded the scientific category A mechanical engineering”.
