The 5th Armed Forces Innovation Forum, a flagship initiative of the Ministry of National Defence serving as a platform for collaboration between the military, academia, and industry, was held at the Military University of Technology on October 14, 2025.
The Forum’s mission is to raise awareness of the need to achieve synergy between scientific research, technological development, and the needs of the armed forces, with the goal of creating an advantage that shapes security. Security, technology, and collaboration form the foundation of modern Armed Forces.
The Forum was attended by the Secretary of State at the Ministry of National Defence, Mr. Cezary Tomczyk, who, in his speech, emphasized the significant increase in defence spending in 2025 and highlighted the need to develop innovative technologies in Poland, which provide our armed forces with new technological solutions and contribute to the intensive growth of the Polish defence industry.
The rest of the Forum consisted of two thematic panels:
- Unmanned systems and short technology life cycle.
- The security of the Alliance in the era of innovation – the role of the East Shield.
The Forum was attended by representatives of ITWL, including the Director Mirosław Kowalski, PhD, DSc, Eng., Prof. ITWL, Deputy Director for Scientific Affairs, Prof. Andrzej Żyluk.
The Innovation Forum was accompanied by a static exhibition of innovative studies. The Institute presented:
- UAV Kleszcz,
- UAV Pancernik,
- SYLAND anti-drone system.
The ITWL studies were presented by the Secretary of State in the Ministry of National Defence, Mr. Cezary Tomczyk, accompanied by the Director of the Innovation Department, Brig. Gen. Marcin Górka.
