The project "The use of quantum technologies in the air traffic management of Polish Armed Forces" (QATM) was inaugurated in ITWL on June 15, 2021. The project is co-financed by the National Center for Research and Development as part of the Competition No. 1 / "Szafir" / 2020 for the implementation and financing of projects implemented for the defense and state security.
The meeting was attended by members of the consortium who will perform the project: ITWL (as a leader), represented by ITWL Deputy Director for professor Andrzej Żyluk, Ph.D., D.Sc. Eng., Institute of Bioorganic Chemistry - the Poznań Supercomputing and Network Center, represented by the Deputy of the Plenipotentiary of the Director of the Institute of Bioorganic Chemistry dedicated to S&N Center Ph.D., D.Sc. Eng. Krzysztof Kurowski and Exence SA, represented by the Vice-President Arkadiusz Wink.
The aim of the project is to obtain a quantum advantage in the form of obtained real-time solutions based on algorithmizations and solving the management of objects that are in the airspace. The assumption of the project is the use of quantum technologies to provide optimized and real-time plans and schedules for complex tasks for facilities in the airspace.
During the meeting, a steering committee was appointed, whose chairman was the ITWL deputy director professor Andrzej Żyluk.
The project will be developed in ITWL's Logistic Support Division under the supervision of the its Chief - Col. Ph.D., D.Sc. Eng. Mariusz Zieja, prof. ITWL.
