Twenty most important Polish enterprises and institutions developing cosmic technologies, including Air Force Institute of Technology, appointed Cosmic Technology Cluster (KTK). The agreement was signed on November 5, 2021 during the Congress 590, which took place in Nodrzovska Jasionka. The Institute was represented by Deputy Director of Ph. D Eng. Jarosław Sarnecki.
The aim of the appointed KTK is cooperation with the creation, development and implementation of space technologies emerging in Poland. Such a wide representation of the environment, from scientific and research entities to commercial companies, makes in KTK associated entities corresponding to over 85 percent of the capacity of the space sector in Poland.
The main tasks of the cluster will include developing resources and competences from the technician area and cosmic technologies, which will effectively deliver the elements of satellite systems to the market and, in the future, create fully functional and extensive cosmic systems.
The cluster will seek, among others To implement an outlined in the national plan to reconstruct and elevate the Polish constellation of the observation microsatelites by 2026. Such projects are protected by Polish economic and military interests. They are also important for building the image of Poland as a country actively acting in the space area.
The Ceremony was attended by high representatives of the central and local authorities including: Deputy Minister Maciej Małecki - Secretary of State in the Ministry of State Assets, Deputy Minister Małgorzata Jarosińska-Jedynak - Secretary of State in the Ministry of Funds and Regional Policy and Deputy Minister Wojciech Murdzek - Secretary of State in the Ministry of Education and Science. Local authorities represented the Marshal of the Podkarpackie Voivodeship, Władysław Ortyl.
