The Director of ITWL and representatives of 36 Polish institutions and the universities have signed a contract for the establishment of the Mazovian Hydrogen Valley (MDW), whose leader will be PKN ORLEN. The ceremony took place in Płock, April 8, 2022.
In addition to the Director of ITWL - Mirosław Kowalski, Ph.D., DSc. Eng., among the signatories of contracts for the appointment of MDW, were, among others, representatives of the Warsaw University of Technology and the Lodz University of Technology, industry development agencies, Polish Chamber Chemical Industry, PERN and the Central Communication Port.
Cooperation under MDW is to embrace both production and storage and the use of zero - and low-emission hydrogen, among others In transport, energy, municipal economy and agriculture.
Present on the ceremony, Deputy Minister of Climate and Environment - Ireneusz Zyska said:
"We want to support the development of this sector. We are currently preparing at the moment in the Ministry of Climate and Environment a large legislative package, which proudly called the "hydrogen constitution". These are several laws and implementing regulations, where we will propose a system of public aid, support for the production of low and zero-emission hydrogen, also from renewable energy sources. "
On the other hand, a member of the Management Board of PKN ORLEN for operational Józef Węgrecki announced that "MDW will work in the open formula. Everyone who see the future in hydrogen is welcome. If someone sees in our ranks, the structure will be established that will allow the accession. "
MDW, as announced during the presentation of its goals, will be a place of development and then implementing new hydrogen technologies, as well as educating future staff for this economy sector. There are plans Appointment, addressed to students, Academy of Hydrogen and Modern Technologies.
