The Unmanned Aerial Vehicle ‘Wizjer’ developed by ITWL was presented on the stand of the Polish Armaments Group S.A. during the Conference of Defence and Security Defence 24Fay, which was held on 24-25 May 2022, in Warsaw.
The edition of this year’s conference was divided into 3 thematic blocks: DEFENCE - INDUSTRY - RESISTANCE, during which participated ITWL Director, PhD. Dsc. B. Eng. Mirosław Kowalski, prof. ITWL and Deputy Director for Research, Prof. PhD. Dsc. B. Eng. Andrzej Żyluk.
The conference was accompanied by an exhibition presenting the latest trends in soldier equipment, including uniform and nourishment which secure the functioning of the Polish Armed Forces and allying countries during task implementation in crisis.
As part of the exhibition, on the stand of the PGZ S.A, an Unmanned Aerial Vehicle for the needs of the Wizjer project in ITWL was presented. This is the same system, which was addressed at the start of 2022, when Minister of Defence Mariusz Błaszczak confirmed the contract for 25 sets (1 set includes 4 UAV) of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles manufactured by PGZ S.A. based on the license granted by ITWL.
The Unmanned Aerial Vehicle ordered by the Ministry of Defence is an unmanned air platform in a flying wing pattern with an electric drive and pusher propeller. The structure is based on a light platform using carbon-epoxy composites. The weight of the whole system in a movable version (rucksack transportable) does not exceed 50kg, and the take-off weight of the air platform is 13kg. The flight speed of the platform is between 65km/h to 140 km/h, operational altitude between 100 to 1000m. The maximum flight ceiling is 4000m. The operational range is 35km maximum, and flight time exceeds 3 hours. Preparation of the system for flight takes no longer than 15 minutes.
