ITWL’s representatives participated in the meeting of the EREA association - Association of European Research Establishment in Aeronautics, which was held on 17-18 May in INCAS (National Institute for Aerospace Research ‘Elie Carafoli’) headquarters in Bucharest.
During two-day conference, meetings were held of the Board and General Assembly Strategic Workshop, where ITWL Director was represented by the Head of the External Cooperation Coordination Department - PhD. B.Eng. Krzysztof Adamiec; and of EREA Secretariat. They were dedicated to strategic aims of the association and tasks planned for the near future.
The association of European Research Establishments in Aeronautics (EREA) has existed since 1994 and it is the largest and the most influential and recognisable organisation in Europe associating researchers and scientists from the field of aeronautics. It consists of 15 the most important research institutes from Europe. EREA brings together experts from the following fields: aerodynamics, materials and structures, flight mechanics, propulsion, acoustics, avionics, flights during test, modelling and simulation, environment protection, security, airports and many others.
EREA is also a creator and project manager of Future Sky, which is a response to assumptions and objectives set by ACARE (Advisory Council for Aeronautics Research in Europe) in the Strategic Research and Innovation Agenda (SRIA) concluded in Flight Path 2050.
The institutes associated in EREA Association actively participate in projects funded by the European Union, i.e. JTIs Clean Sky or SESAR.
ITWL is an EREA member affiliated by Łukasiewicz Research Network - Aviation Institute.
Łukasiewicz Research Network - Aviation Institute has been EREA member since 10 years and since January 2022, Ph.D. Eng. Paweł Stężycki was appointed as a chairman of the Management Board for a term of two years. More on: www.erea.org
