The Director of the Air Force Institute of Technology, Ph.D., D.Sc. Eng. Mirosław Kowalski, and the President of the Łukasiewicz Center, Ph.D. Piotr Dardziński, signed an agreement to establish comprehensive cooperation within the potential of both institutions. The official signing of the document took place during the 2nd Forum of Innovation in the Polish Armed Forces (R&D+Army), which occurred on October 19th at the Military University of Technology.
Similar agreements with the Łukasiewicz Center were also signed on that day by representatives of the Military Institute of Armament Technology and the Military Institute of Armoured and Automotive Technology. These institutes, like AFIT, are supervised by the Undersecretary of State at the Ministry of National Defense, Mr. Marcin Ociepa, who was also present during the signing ceremony of the aforementioned documents.
The R&D+Army Forum was organized by the Ministry of National Defense, the Military University of Technology, and the National Center for Research and Development. Representatives of the Polish Armed Forces, the world of science, and industry were invited to participate in the discussion. Special guests of the 2nd edition of the conference included Tiina Uudeberg, Undersecretary for Defense Planning at the Estonian Ministry of Defense, James Appathurai, Deputy Assistant Secretary General of NATO for Emerging Security Challenges, and Stéphane Moinard, Director of the International Cooperation Department at the French Defense Innovation Agency (AID).
Participants of the forum had the opportunity to familiarize themselves with a static exhibition, where AFIT presented selected products in the field of unmanned aerial vehicles, armaments, and logistic support systems.
